A virtual peer learning series for rural practitioners –
The RuFES Action Network recognizes that there are some opportunities where a little help from your friends can make a big difference. Integrating affordable health insurance enrollment into tax prep programs is one of those opportunities. This year only, health insurance enrollment under the Affordable Care Act will overlap with tax season.
To help you take advantage of this opportunity, the RuFES Network will offer a virtual peer learning series this January, February and March. In this virtual peer learning group, interested network members will collectively share their ideas, experience and questions using online tools and web conferencing.
Each of the three virtual peer learning sessions will last an hour and a half and will focus on answering questions from you about how to do this work. In addition to the staff of the Aspen Institute’s Community Strategies Group, Elizabeth Colvin, Insure Central Texas Director from Foundation Communities, which provides both tax prep service and health insurance enrollment in Texas, and Tara Straw, Senior Policy Analyst in the Health Policy Department of the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities will serve as resources to participants in the learning series. Hopefully we can help you make this tax season twice as meaningful for your low-income, working rural families!
